This is a course for anybody wanting to learn to use a computer. You will learn to turn it on, use Windows XP, understand the desktop, use a mouse, and work with drives, files and folders. Digital Photography Lab - Fall 2010 Art & Music
Description:

This workshop will take the learner from field image capture to printing an art quality print. The basics of image capture and camera controls will be covered briefly. What will follow is the enhancement of images in Photoshop, using the adjustment tools and techniques in the software. Weekly assignments will vary by subject, but each session will feature introduction, practice, and application of the following tools: resizing, levels, shadow/highlights, dodging, burning, making selections, cloning, sharpening, setting black points, black/white conversion, hue/saturation, contrast control, panoramic stitching, and color variations. More topics and software controls may be discussed and applied depending on learner interest. Printing will be done each week using archival paper and a pigment dye printer. PLEASE BRING SOME PHOTOS ON FLASH DRIVE OR CD TO WORK WITH Computer experience is preferred but not required.

Russian - Fall, 2010 Language
Description:

This course will open the window to Russia. Students will learn basic Russian (alphabet, pronunciation, vocabulary, conversational phrases for travel, greetings, and shopping). In this course students will be introduced to the etiquette and culture of Russia as well. Students will be surprised by their progress. Russian is a very phonetic language in that there is only one sound for each letter of the alphabet. Also, like most languages, Russian “borrows“ words from other languages including English. So, you already know some Russian!
